A member of Harmony
Central donates $300, which was used to purchase a
set of Sabian cymbals to complete a drum set that was donated.
This money was also used to purchase a new Fender acoustic
guitar with gig bag, as well as 3 gig bags for electric
guitars that were previously donated. Thanks again to
Harmony Central!

Several members of the Harmony
Central discussion forums donate electric guitars, including two Fender Squire Bullet
strats, a Guild hollowbody electric, and a Nelsonic Telecaster.
Additionally, a Peavey bass amplifier was donated. Thanks
to the generous forumites of Harmony-Central!

The
Girlfriend Experience,
a professional band from San Francisco, performed for the
teens at Station 7, and donated a guitar to the program.
They gave an amazing, full-blast performance that will not
soon be forgotten. After the show, members of GFE spoke to
the kids about the importance of staying clean, as well as
how to get a band started, and what level of commitment it
takes to really make it in music or any other profession.
Thanks to GFE for taking time out of their busy tour schedule

but important “thank
you” to the talented and dedicated AMP volunteers.

A University of Oregon student spent a term
observing the program, interviewing teens and volunteers,
and wrote a research paper on it, and other similar youth
arts programs. You can find

ACCHORD held its annual fundraising concert with performances
that included native american flute, harp, piano, bagpipes,
didgeridoo, drums and mandocello.

AMP celebrates its five-year anniversary with a live
band performance for the youth, and pizza for everyone.

Center.
January 8, 2005
After music lessons were complete for the
day, AMP held a Job Hunting 101 workshop for four teens at
Station 7. This pilot project was the first step towards
possibly expanding AMP to include information sessions on
topics such as job hunting, planning for college, cooking
healthy and low-cost meals, planning for independent living
after high school, etc. AMP may pursue a grant in
the future to offer these sessions.

AMP is awarded a $2,920 grant from The
Mockingbird Foundation. With youth participation in AMP continually increasing,
these funds are much needed, and will primarily be used to purchase music gear
for students who graduate from AMP by completing 10 lessons. A huge “THANK
YOU” to the band Phish, and all the Phish fans who helped make this grant
possible!

Family Foundation.

Bob Clayton returned to The Child Center, and with help from
Brad Parchelle, recorded one of their
students who happens to have a stunning singing voice. She
recorded 10 songs onto a portable 4-track recorder. Bob then
transferred the songs to CDs, and gave her several copies.
It was an exciting project for her, and for the AMP volunteers!

Bob Clayton made a presentation
to a classroom at The Child Center, a day treatment center
for children. During this presentation, each student was given
the opportunity to play the guitar, and sing into the microphone.

Station
7 hosted a CD Release Party for the youth to celebrate the
completion of the
cd titled “Fountain of Youth”.
The teens heard the completed cd for the first time and
received copies to keep. Special guests included Catherine
and Tara from Lane Arts Council, Station 7 staff, and
friends of the teen musicians. Click

In the final step of the project funded by the Lane
Arts Council,
the AMP graduates spent the day in Songtree Recording
Studio creating their album.

AMP is up and running again, and Saturday lessons
resume. A special bagpipe performance was provided for
the teens.

ACCHORD is awarded a $3,449 grant from the PeaceHealth
Employee’s
Council. These funds enabled the purchase of all the music
gear necessary to get the
Saturday lessons rolling again. PeaceHealth essentially saved the program
with this landmark contribution.

ACCHORD signs the first Corporate Sponsor, Wells Fargo Bank, which contributes

ACCHORD is awarded a $1,000 grant from Lane Arts

A serious grant writing and fund-raising effort is launched.
